Release date: 5/10/2009
Transport’s Licensing Services Acting General Manager Alastair Bryant announced today that Licensing has introduced BPAY as a new payment option for its customers. BPAY is a safe and secure method available via internet and phone banking 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Mr Bryant said that this innovation will provide many benefits to Licensing and customers.
"BPAY will provide Licensing customers with a greater choice plus a more convenient and secure way to pay their accounts through their internet or phone banking facilities," Alastair said.
"It will also provide a more efficient revenue collection service for Licensing and its associated financial institutions, as well as providing a significant cost saving to Government in the long term," he said.
Licensing's extensive media and communication campaign "BPAY makes it easier” has been launched across press, direct mail and online with the aim to reach most households in WA to create awareness of the new payment option.
Initially, BPAY will be available from 5 October 2009 for a large range of common transactions such as driver’s licence renewals, vehicle renewals and vehicle licence transfers, with this range being gradually expanded to include a host of other payments.
