About intrastate air services
The current intrastate aviation framework regulates air services to 14 regional airports and monitors air services to 11 deregulated airports.
The outcome of the 2011 air services review is outlined in the table below.
Charter services on all Regular Public Transport (RPT) air routes continue to be limited to one service per client per calendar week (Monday to Sunday).
Applications to provide charter services above this limit of one service per client per calendar week is to be made to the Department of Transport using the application form (download below). Additional charter services may be approved by the Minister if it is demonstrated that they will:
- Not undermine the current RPT service; and
- Provide a benefit to the community.
