The Munda Biddi Trail is extended with the opening of a 139km section from Collie to Jarrahwood. The existing 26km Sidings Rail Trail from Jarrahwood to Nannup has been added. The Trail now extends a distance of almost 500km from Mundaring to Nannup.

The Observation Wheel near the recreational shared path west of the Bell Tower has started operating and will continue for two years. Riders should slow down and be vigilant when passing through the area as many visitors are expected at the attraction.

The Water Corporation will be undertaking improvement works to the Redcliffe Pump Station at the western end of Ascot Place during March 2009.

Advice has been received from Main Roads WA that this section of the Kwinana Freeway PSP will be closed for a period of 10 weeks from 19 January to undertake foreshore protection works on the Canning River Foreshore.
