Watch out for wildlife

The warmer weather brings cyclists into contact with wildlife such as snakes and magpies.

Path and trail users in areas with natural vegetation such as the new Kwinana Freeway extension may encounter snakes, and anyone riding a bike during the breeding season may have to contend with swooping birds.

Bikewest has fact sheets on snakes (pdf 182kb) and swooping birds (pdf 153kb) that provide useful tips about how to deal with these two issues.
