Follow the shared path for about 300 metres and turn left into King Street. This will take you through to Corfield Street.
Halfway along King Street, an optional short detour can be made to the nearby Wilkinson Homestead Museum by turning right into a shared path alongside Crandon Street and then riding down George Street. The museum is open on Wednesdays and Sundays.
Continue down King Street to the junction with Corfield Street. Carefully cross this busy road and into a shared path that runs down the northern side of Anaconda Drive. After about 400 metres and directly opposite Anaconda Park, you will come to a fork in the path. Turn sharp right into the path that runs down toward the steep tree-lined riverbank.
Follow the shared path for another half a kilometre, past the end of Jenkinson Street, and through a natural bushland along the Southern River to Richard Rushton Community Centre.
The Southern River is a tributary of the Canning River, which in turn flows into the much larger Swan River. The Southern River eventually reduces to Neerigan Brook and this is the water feature that forms an attractive pond in Minnawarra Park where the Armadale to Perth Ride commences.
Complete this section at the Richard Rushton Community Centre in Gosnells. Here you will find public toilets, a shady grassed area and car park. |
