Roe Highway

1. Extend Roe Highway to Kwinana Freeway

Aim: To reduce traffic on South Street and Leach Highway, while catering for increasing levels of traffic heading to the growing industrial areas of Cockburn and Kwinana

Highlights

  • Roe Highway Stage Six – linking Nicholson Road with South Street – was opened to traffic on 23 April 2004. Roe Highway has taken heavy traffic off local roads and put it on to a custom-built facility to enhance safety and amenity. Significant traffic reductions have been seen on Leach Highway with the opening of Roe Highway Stages Four, Five and Six.

  • Roe Highway Stage Seven – which will extend the highway from South Street through to the Kwinana Freeway – is currently under construction through a $68 million alliance contract between Main Roads Western Australia, Clough Engineering and Maunsell Australia Pty Ltd, and is due to be completed by March 2006.
