About the consultation process

Initial consultation on the model Compliance and Enforcement Bill was undertaken by the National Road Transport Commission (now National Transport Commission), however, that consultation process took place a number of years ago.

To ensure that the model legislation remains relevant for WA, the Government decided to undertake a consultation period on the Compliance and Enforcement provisions being proposed within the Road Traffic (Vehicles) Bill 2009.

Part of the Compliance and Enforcement provisions have already been passed by Parliament as part of the Road Traffic (Administration) Act 2008, and do not form part of this consultation.

  • The consultation period ended on January 15, 2010.
