Coastal infrastructure planning and development

The Department is responsible for planning and development of coastal infrastructure, including:

• Investigation of the need for new maritime facilities and enhancements to existing facilities
  • Recreational Boating Facilities Studies
  • Hillarys - economic and social impact study
• Planning and design;
• Provision of a regulatory and advisory role
• The Recreational Boating Facilities Scheme (RBFS)
• Developing concept plans, feasibility studies and business cases;
• Project managing the delivery of facilities
  • Construction projects for floating pens
• Providing technical input and direction for project delivery.
