Fees
The fees for the above services can be determined from the Notes to Tabled fees (New and existing) and the fees for Vessel length. They are set to reflect the extent of service that the Department must deliver. View fees and charges.
In each case, a Commercial Vessel Safety Marine Surveyor will assess the suitability of the vessel (as proposed to be modified if the vessel is being modified) for the class of operation. The Marine Surveyor will write to the applicant to advise if further information is required, or if there are other requirements about which the applicant should be aware.
Fees will be assessed by a Senior Marine Surveyor at the time of receipt of the application form. No work will be commenced on the application until required fees are paid and required drawings or information is supplied.
For vessels being modified no work should be carried out upon the vessel until a Marine Surveyor has assessed the information provided and is satisfied that modifications and changes of class proposed will meet the requirements of Western Australian Marine Act and the Uniform Shipping Laws Code.
