The Department's Marine Officers will be controlling the on-water activities for the event which is the busiest time of the year on the Swan River.
Marine Officers recommend that boat owners complete a thorough check of safety equipment on board their vessel and ensure it has the correct combination of navigation lights.
It's also recommended that life jackets and flares are carried on board when on the river.
The restrictions for Perth Water include:
- an eight (8) knot speed limit will apply from Quarry Point to the Causeway Bridge including all of Perth Waters between 3:00pm and 11:00pm;
- Perth Water will be closed to all vessels from 4:45pm to 9:45pm;
- Mend St channel will be closed from approximately 12:45pm until 11:00pm;
- vessels are only to anchor or moor in the spectator craft areas; and
- the Narrows Bridge main navigation channel (centre arch only) is to be used by all vessels.

Closures
On the day of the event the personal watercraft freestyle area west of the Narrows Bridge will be closed from 3pm to allow vessels to anchor, while bathing is prohibited from 3pm to 11pm in the restricted waters upstream of Quarry Point to the Causeway.
The Belmont ski area will also be closed from 3pm to accommodate an increase in river traffic from the Maylands and Goodwood Parade boat ramps.
Radio
While it is not a requirement for all vessels to be fitted with a radio, boats fitted with one are asked to monitor Ch 88 27 Mhz or VHF 9 and use the call sign 'Marine Command' to contact Department's Marine Officers if required. A message will be broadcasted on these frequencies advising vessels of the closing and reopening of Perth Waters.
