Registered Training Organisations (RTO's)
The Department of Transport authorises Registered Training Organisations (RTO's) to conduct academic courses for marine certificates of competency. When successfully completed, a Certificate, or Statement of Attainment is issued by the RTO to Transport. The Certificate or Statement is required before an oral examination can be booked by Transport for a candidate.
Prior to enrolling for any course for a marine Certificate of Competency, Transport recommends that applicants sea service is assessed by Transport and that applicants have met the required eyesight and medical standards.
