Perth metropolitan area

There are 3 options to have your vehicle examined in the Perth metropolitan area:

• Metropolitan Vehicle Examination Centres: pre-booked
• Metropolitan Vehicle Examination Centres: first-come first-served, or
• Metropolitan, Authorised Inspection Stations: pre-booked

Metropolitan examination centres: pre-booked

You must pre-book your vehicle examination by calling 1300 782 713 at the following Transport Vehicle Examination Centres:

Metropolitan Vehicle Examination Centres: first-come first-served

The following Transport Vehicle Examination Centres work on a first-come first-served basis. These centres do not use the booking system.;

• O'Connor (map)
• Welshpool (map)

These examination centres are open from 7:30am to 4:30pm, Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays).

Customers seeking inspections at O’Connor & Welshpool should arrive no later than 3:30pm.

You may experience delays of up to several hours at these centres due to occasional unexpected high demand for inspections and on some days there is no guarantee that your vehicle will be inspected.

Metropolitan authorised inspection stations: pre booked

Transport has authorised private businesses to provide limited vehicle examinations in the Perth Metropolitan area.

You must pre-book your vehicle inspection. When making your booking, it is important to confirm that the centre is authorised to inspect your type of vehicle and to provide the type of examination you require.

Regional centres and country areas

Transport has authorised private businesses (Approved Inspection Stations) to provide vehicle examinations in regional centres and certain country areas.
 
Please note, some Approved Inspection Stations are unable to inspect every class of vehicle so it is important to check with the station owner that your class of vehicle can be inspected by them.

Temporary movement permits:

If your vehicle is unregistered and you need to move it for the purposes of registration or repairs prior to registration, you must obtain a temporary movement permit.
