Online services Changing your address

If you have changed your address you must notify the Department in writing within 21 days.

To quickly and easily change your address online, please complete the LifeEvents change of address form.  (external site)

The following details must be provided;
  • Full name

  • Date of birth

  • Current residential address

  • Driver's licence details

  • All vehicle licence details (this includes cars, trucks, motorcycles, trailers, caravans, boats and firearms)

  • Your new residential address and postal address (if applicable)

A change of address sticker will be forwarded when your address details have been changed on your driver's licence record and this should be attached to the back of your licence. A change of address sticker will not be forwarded for changes to vehicle registration.

Fees 
If you want to obtain a replacement driver's licence showing your new details the following fee(s) applies;

  • SSI - Duplicate driver licence $30.40 (normal rate)
  • SSI - Duplicate driver licence (Seniors and Pensioners) $15.20 (pensioners or seniors)
  • no fee payable for aged pensioners

If you want to obtain replacement vehicle licence papers a fee of SSI - Replacement vehicle licence papers $8.70 is applicable.

Postal address

If you have a postal address, which is different to your residential address, it can be used for correspondence purposes but you must provide a residential address.
