HR/HC Practical Driver Assessments - Trial

A trial of HR/HC Practical Driver Assessments (PDA) will be performed by external Authorised Providers in the Bunbury/Busselton Region.

During this six month trial, drivers in the Bunbury/Busselton region may choose to undertake their HR or HC Assessment with either the Department of Transport (DoT) or an external Authorised Provider.

More information:

Notes for HR candidates, using an Authorised Provider:

Once you receive a Certificate of Competency from the Authorised Provider you must attend a Driver and Vehicle Services Centre or Regional Agent.

You will not be entitled to drive a HR class vehicle until you have presented the certificate, paid the processing fee, and the new class has been added to your licence record by Driver and Vehicle Services.

Unless you previously held an MR class licence, you will also need to pay for and sit the heavy vehicle theory test before you are entitled to drive a HR class vehicle. Holders of an MR class licence will have already met this requirement.

Notes for HC trial candidates using an Authorised Provider:

Once you receive a Certificate of Competency from the Authorised Provider you must attend a Driver and Vehicle Services Centre or Regional Agent.

You will not be entitled to drive a HC class vehicle until you have presented the certificate, paid the processing fee, and the new class has been added to your licence record by Driver and Vehicle Services.
