Taxi and charter vehicles
Western Australia's taxi, tour and charter vehicle industry is regulated by the Department of Transport.
This site provides key information for:
- passenger information and safety,
- driver operator information (Taxis), and
- passenger transport vehicle services (Omnibus).

Mobile security patrols - extended for three years
In April 2013, following a successful 12 month trial and appointment through a tender process, the Department of Transport has appointed Wilson Security to provide mobile security patrols across the metropolitan area for a further 3 years.The security patrol will continue to operate with two security officers in each of the 5 vehicles at the following times:
- Midnight on Fridays to 6am on Saturdays
- Midnight on Saturdays to 6am on Sundays.

Wheelchair-accessible taxis
Wheelchair-accessible or multi-purpose taxis (MPTs) are specially equipped taxis that provide essential transport for people with disabilities or mobility difficulties.Fare subsidies are available for people who have a severe disability that prevents them using a conventional public transport bus service.
How to book a multi-purpose taxi
MPTs currently make up about 6.5% of the Perth taxi fleet and can be booked through the following taxi companies:- 13 10 08 - Black and White Taxis
- 13 13 30 - Swan Taxis
Make sure you advise the operator of any special requirements such as wheelchair access, scooter use or child restraints assistance with luggage.

The Taxi Industry Board (TIB) is a statutory body with an objective to provide a considered and singular view for consideration by the Minister for Transport, taking into account the views of both industry stakeholders and taxi users.|
