There are numerous ways to establish employment in the Perth taxi industry. The Taxi Council of Western Australia (TCWA) and the Taxi Industry Forum of Western Australia (TIFWA) are active industry bodies who will be able to assist you in finding work.

Operating costs
Rank fees
Rank fees are approximately $110-$125 per week and must be paid to the Taxi Dispatch Service to access job information via radio.

Fuel costs
The WA State Government Department of Community and Employment Protection (DOCEP) maintains a free website with fuel cost information. Information is updated daily and can be viewed at www.fuelwatch.wa.gov.au/
Shift lease rates
Shift lease fees are charged by taxi operators when you lease their vehicle. The current maximum shift lease rates are listed below.
