We can all cut our greenhouse gas emissions by using the car less. I walk to the shops and get to uni on the bus. -- Nathan

Nathan walks to the shops

Try it out. If you haven’t cycled to the shops or caught public transport to work before, plan ahead and give it a go.

  • Check your local TravelSmart guide or the Transperth journey planner.

  • Target the trips that are easy to change. You could cycle to the video shop, walk to a local park, pub or deli, bus or train into town for shopping or a night out.

  • Share a ride. Carpool to work with a colleague or to the shops or footy match with family or friends.
Reduce your greenhouse gas emissions by cutting out a few car trips. A third of an average household’s emissions come from car use, but switching some trips to public transport, cycling or walking will make you part of the climate solution.
