About the program
Following ten successful years of Walk Week, 2011 saw the replacement of this event with the launch of Walk Over October. Throughout the entire month there were walking initiatives all over the state.Walk Over October encouraged Western Australians to be active by walking for transport, health, recreation and the environment, or a combination such as walking with public transport to find some of the thirty minutes of physical activity needed each day for good healtha combination.
The purpose of the program was to encourage your community to reduce the number of short car trips by walking all or part of your journey to your favourite destinations.
