A great instructor keeps Amanda on track

In October 2024 Amanda signed up to Winun Ngari Aboriginal Corporation’s Driving Access and Equity Program funded driving program.

Intially attracted to the progam’s accessibilty and its financial support, it was the insightful teachings from driving instructor Rhys that kept her coming back.

“Rhys is a very good instructor and made the instructions easy to follow and he would demonstrate when I needed more help,” Amanda said.

After completing nine driving lessons with Winun Ngari, Amanda passed her driving test in Decemeber 2024.

Rhys enjoyed teaching Amanda and fondly remembers driving into various peoples’ driveways to perfect her reversing techniques.

“It was great seeing her confidence grow as the weeks passed and I couldn’t be happier for her getting her licence,” Rhys said.

Amanda’s advice to others seeking to join Winun Ngari’s program was to trust Rhys and listen to all the instructions and guidelines.

“The goal is to become confident and everything else will fall into place,” she said.
