On-demand transport industry portals

On-demand booking services (ODBSs) must:

  • only dispatch to authorised drivers and vehicles; and
  • report safety incidents to the Department of Transport and Major Infrastructure (DTMI).

DTMI has developed the below online portals, services and look-ups to:

  • help ODBSs meet their safety obligations; and
  • enable passengers to check that their ODBS, driver and vehicle is authorised.

Planned DTMI system upgrades

To support our services and strengthen security, DTMI regularly maintains and upgrades our digital systems.

Upgrades generally occur from 8.00am to 12.00pm on affected days (unless stated otherwise). During these periods, online services will be temporarily unavailable.

Upcoming DTMI system upgrades

There will be planned DTMI system upgrades on the following dates:

  • Sunday 17 May 2026.
  • 6:00pm Friday 29 May – 6:00am Tuesday 2 June 2026 (WA Day long weekend).
  • Sunday 28 June 2026.
  • Sunday 6 September 2026.
  • Sunday 15 November 2026.
  • Sunday 17 January 2027.

Note: These dates are subject to change. You should bookmark this page and regularly check for upgrades.

How do system upgrades impact the on-demand transport industry?

Some DoTDirect services may be unavailable during system upgrades, including paying authorisation or renewal fees. Check your fee due dates in DoTDirect and pay your fees early, to make sure your authorisation is always current and does not expire.

Any DTMI service that looks up passenger transport vehicle (PTV) or passenger transport driver (PTD) authorisation statuses will not be available during the upgrade, including the DVID and passenger transport web services.

Drivers using the Passenger Transport Subsidy Scheme (PTSS) mobile app must continue to accept PTSS cards during system upgrades. Drivers should use the PTSS mobile app offline login functionality during upgrades. Visit How to use the app for more information.

Drivers using dispatch equipment that is integrated with the PTSS application programming interface (API) can still submit journey during an upgrade. However, the PTSS API will be unable to check the status of PTV and PTD authorisations. Visit PTSS web services for more information.
