On-demand transport industry portals

On-demand booking services (ODBSs) must:

  • only dispatch to authorised drivers and vehicles; and
  • report safety incidents to the Department of Transport and Major Infrastructure (DTMI).

DTMI has developed online portals and services to assist ODBSs to meet these safety obligations, including:

  • the Driver and Vehicle Industry Dashboard (DVID), which allows ODBSs to confirm driver and vehicle authorisation status;
  • passenger transport web services that allow ODBSs to integrate their digital systems (like dispatch software) with DTMI data; and
  • notifiable occurrence and alleged driver conduct reporting tools in DoTDirect.

DTMI also provides public, online look-ups so passengers can check that their ODBS and driver is authorised.

Planned DTMI system outages

DTMI regularly maintains our digital systems, which requires temporary, planned system outages.

Upcoming outages

There will be planned DTMI system outages on the following dates:

  • Sunday 23 November 2025.
  • Sunday 25 January 2026.
  • Sunday 29 March 2026.
  • Sunday 17 May 2026.
  • Sunday 28 June 2026.

Planned outages generally occur from 8.00am to 12.00pm on affected days.

Note: These dates are subject to change. You should bookmark this page and regularly check for updates.

How do outages impact the on-demand transport industry?

Some DoTDirect services may be unavailable during outages, including paying authorisation or renewal fees. Check your fee due dates in DoTDirect and pay your fees early, to make sure your authorisation is always current and does not expire.

Any DTMI service that looks up PTV or PTD authorisation status will not be available during the outage, including the DVID and passenger transport web services.

Drivers using the Passenger Transport Subsidy Scheme (PTSS) mobile app must continue to accept PTSS cards during system outages. Drivers should use the PTSS mobile app offline login functionality during outages. Visit How to use the app for more information.

Drivers using dispatch equipment that is integrated with the PTSS application programming interface (API) can still submit journey during an outage. However, the PTSS API will be unable to check the status of PTV and PTD authorisations. Visit PTSS web services for more information.

On-demand transport provider authorisation status look-up

It is important that passengers only take on-demand transport trips with authorised providers.

Check the authorisation status of any passenger transport driver or on-demand booking service using DTMI’s online look-ups – visit Check your on-demand transport provider is authorised for more information.
