Privacy Collection Notice (DoTDirect)

About this notice

The WA Department of Transport and Major Infrastructure (the Department) collects your personal information, including health information, photographic images, and biometric data, to verify your identity and address, facilitate vehicle transfers, issue licences and permits, process payments, register organisations, and carry out other requested services you request from the Department.

Why we collect your information

We collect this information to meet requirements under the Western Australian road laws (as defined in the Road Traffic (Administration Act) 2008), Western Australian Photo Card Act 2014, National Disability Insurance Scheme (Worker Screening) Act 2020, Transport (Road Passenger Services) Act 2018 and applicable fisheries and marine laws which are listed on Privacy policy | Transport WA.  A health professional may also need to complete a medical assessment to confirm your fitness to hold a licence or permit.

Who we share your information with

The Department may disclose your information to law enforcement agencies, interstate or overseas licensing authorities, other government departments, courts or other entities as permitted by law, including for identity verification and law enforcement purposes.

What happens if you do not provide information

Providing your information is voluntary, however if do not provide the required details, or provide false or misleading information, your application or services may be refused, your licence cancelled, and you may face criminal proceedings.
