  Insurance coverage for cyclists

Insurance coverage for cyclists is not compulsory, but can be useful. Many cycling groups in Western Australia provide insurance for cyclists.

Insurance policies vary and can include 24/7 coverage of bike riders of all ages and abilities, or only provide cover as part of races, training sessions and events.

Many cycling groups provide insurance cover as part of their membership, which can also include further benefits like cycling magazines, informative emails, support and advice.

Cycling specific insurance benefits can be limited and considering personal insurance as well as private health cover or ambulance cover is worthwhile. Most memberships do not include insurance cover for bike-theft, loss or damage. Check your existing bike insurance coverage with your home and content policies or ask one of the cycling groups.
