Online account

A DoTDirect online account is a free personalised account where you can manage all information relating to your personal vehicle licence and driver's licence, as well as pay all bills associated with these licences. You are also able to view your boats and pay boat registration renewals through your DoTDirect online account.

DoTDirect online account is available for both individuals and businesses.

Online account for individuals

There are two ways to register.

  1. Register online by selecting the ‘Register’ button, then follow the steps. You will need:
    • Your driver's licence and vehicle licence details; or
    • A DoTDirect registration code. If you do not have a registration code, one can be requested during the registration process and mailed to you. This may take up to five days to be received.
  2. Attend a DoT DVS centre or DoT regional office in person with original primary and secondary proof of identity documents.

Once your DoTDirect account is created with your preferred user name, you will receive a temporary password via email. The first time you login, you will be required to create your own personalised password.

What information do you need to register

For security reasons you will be required to provide your driver's licence or learner's permit number; your licence or permit expiry date and your date of birth to register online.

If you wish to register immediately online, you will also need details of a vehicle licensed in WA that you own. You must provide your plate number as well as your engine number or vehicle identification number. These details may be found on your vehicle licence document.

Alternatively, you can provide your original proof of identity documents and register at a DoT DVS centre or DoT regional office.

You will also need to provide a unique email address when registering. For security reasons the application will only allow one person to register and log on to DoTDirect per email address.

Online account for businesses

To register your business, you need to have an individual online DoTDirect account. Once you are logged into your account, you can sign up your business for a DoTDirect Profile by going to the Tools menu and select "Register an Organisation".

There are three ways to register for your organisation account:

  1. Register online. You will need:
    • Details on a current or past vehicle licence renewal or transfer invoice for a vehicle that the business owns; or
    • If you are a business that does not have individual vehicle licence renewals due to being a bulk billing customer, you can also register using your Organisation Code and Organisation Name.
  2. Attend a DoT DVS centre or DoT regional office in person with:
    • Original primary and secondary proof of identity documents for your as an individual.
    • Original certificate of registration of a company or incorporation certificate.
    • Completed DoTDirect organisation application form (E111) below or letter on company letterhead signed by the organisation's director authorising the delegate to act on behalf of the organisation.
  3. If you are a bulk bulling customer who administers WA vehicles and resides interstate, you must submit the following to DVS fleet licensing team by post:
    • Certified copies of primary and secondary proof of identity documents for you as an individual.
    • Certified copy of certificate of registration of a company or incorporation certificate.
    • Completed DoTDirect organisation application (E111) form below or letter on company letterhead signed by the organisation's director authorising the delegate to act on behalf of the organisation.

These applications by post are only acceptable for bulk billing customers that are non-WA residents. The application needs to be post to:

  Account assistance and further information

Updating DoTDirect online account information

If the details relate to your address, email or mobile contact number you can update this yourself under the 'Profile' section of your account. Please contact Driver and Vehicle Services on 13 11 56 and notify them of any other issue with your details.

Forgotten my username or password

  1. Go to the DoTDirect website and select the 'Login' button. This will take you to the login page for DoTDirect online account.
  2. Select the 'Forgot password?' or 'Forgot username?' link to retrieve your password or username.
