Bikes and push-scooters will be put to good use for the school trip, thanks to the Connecting Schools Grant.

Over $325,000 is being shared among 51 Western Australian schools through the grants scheme, which is delivered as part of DTMI’s Your Move program.

Funding supports school communities to develop safe, healthy and sustainable travel habits and is dedicated towards:

  • bike and scooter parking
  • bike skills and pedestrian road safety education workshops
  • other initiatives that support active travel.

Since 2018, more than $1.4 million has been invested as part of the Connecting Schools Grant.

This has contributed to several Western Australian schools seeing increased and more regular student participation in walking, wheeling or riding, along with improved skills and confidence.

The Connecting Schools Grant is available to schools in Western Australia that are registered and achieving positive results in the Your Move program.

For information about how to get involved and take advantage of these benefits, visit the Your Move Schools page.
