Do you visit or live in Geraldton and Mid West surrounds? We want to know your local travel activities to help guide future bike riding connections and experiences.
We’re reviewing the Geraldton 2050 Cycling Strategy with the aim to expand it to cover key townsites and identify interregional links, including for the Batavia Coast and parts of the North Midlands subregions of the Mid West.
A survey is now open, seeking feedback on:
- your local bike riding needs and experiences
- issues to be addressed
- what opportunities you think will make riding safer, more enjoyable and convenient for more people, more often.
Since the first edition of the strategy was published in 2018, 9 out of 14 priorities are complete or underway.
The Chapman Road Shared Path – providing a continuous link between Sunset Beach and Drummond Cove connecting – was one of the top strategic priorities. Following completion in 2023, it’s proved to be a highly valued and used path by people of all ages and abilities, with counter data showing a doubling in usage.
The revised and expanded strategy is being developed in collaboration with the City of Greater Geraldton and the Shires of Carnamah, Chapman Valley, Coorow, Irwin, Mingenew, Northampton and Three Springs.
