On-demand booking services

All individuals and/or businesses that take bookings for an on-demand trip from a customer and arrange a driver and vehicle to service that trip are required to be authorised as an On-demand Booking Service (ODBS).

An On-demand Booking Service (ODBS) is a provider who takes or communicates passenger requests for an on-demand trip and connects the customer with a vehicle and driver; or a driver who makes arrangements directly with the passenger for an on-demand trip.

An On-demand Booking Service authorisation will allow a booking service to operate state-wide and will be valid for 12 months.

The On-demand passenger transport Levy (the Levy) commenced on Monday 1 April 2019 and will fund the buyback of Perth metropolitan taxi plates. The Levy is temporary and will be collected from on-demand booking services.
