How to apply for a trailer and/or semi trailer concession

If you are eligible and wish to apply for one of the concessions listed above, please complete the appropriate form below and lodge it at a Driver and Vehicle Services Centre or regional agent.

Vehicle must Rate Conditions

Be a semi-trailer with a tare weight greater than 1,524 kg that: 

  • Will be towed by a prime mover licensed in the name of the owner of the semi-trailer, and no other prime mover;
  • Will not be towed together with another semi-trailer; and where 
  • Other semi-trailers licensed in the name of the owner will be towed by that prime mover, and no other prime mover.

75% reduction in vehicle licence fees.

This concession cannot be applied to vehicles that are being used in combination with other semi-trailers; or not semi-trailers.

Notes:

Concession is for interchangeable semi-trailers.

Vehicle must Rate Conditions

Be a semi-trailer or trailer with an unloaded mass (tare weight) exceeding 2,000 kg.

50% exemption from vehicle licence fee.

Must be garaged and used exclusively on roads outside the South West Division within the meaning of the Land Administration Act 1997.

Notes:

Trailers or semi-trailers that are used within the South-west Division are not eligible for the concession.
