COVID-19: Fee increases freeze for motor vehicle charges

The economic stimulus package freezes fee increases for household fees and charges which includes motor vehicle registration charges for light vehicles however you will still need to pay your vehicle licence (rego) for both this year and next year.

The freeze means there will be no increases to your light motor vehicle licence fees which were set to rise 1 July this year with inflation.

Registration charges for heavy vehicles will be increasing by 2.5% from 10 July 2020.

See COVID-19 economic response: Relief for businesses and households statement for full details of the stimulus package.
