Geraldton Batavia Coast Marina boat pens

The Department of Transport and Major Infrastructure (DTMI) built an additional set of boat pens (Jetty C) in the Batavia Coast Marina.

The new pens will help meet a growing demand and provide a short stay berth for larger tour / commercial vessels to 25 metres in length.

New pens complete

The construction of a new jetty and 34 boat pens at Batavia Coast Marina was completed in August 2025, ahead of schedule.

Use of the new pens was allowed  as work continued to upgrade the existing electrical network

With the new pens now fully operational with an upgraded power supply, the boating community has provided positive feedback on the additional boat pens and improved facilities at the marina. Boat owners interested in obtaining a new pen at the marina should make an enquiry on the Batavia Coast Marina facility page.

New public carpark

DTMI has also  delivered a new 18-bay public carpark along Wiebbe Hayes Lane providing easier access for users and visitors. The new carpark aligns with the long-term vision developed for the marina.

The carpark project was completed in late March 2026.

Boat ramp upgrade

The existing boat ramp concrete panels have been identified to be at the end of their life and needing replacement. The work to improve the surface of the ramp will complement the recent upgrades to the existing finger jetty.

Detailed design work for the boat ramp upgrade is underway.

It’s anticipated the replacement of the boat ramp surface will be completed in late 2026.
