Get my vehicle inspected or moved

Find out how to get your vehicle inspected and apply for a temporary movement permit.

Welshpool Vehicle Examination Centre (VEC) has closed

The Department of Transport has closed the Welshpool VEC for public bookings from 29 March 2018. The extensive network of Authorised Inspection Stations (AIS) located throughout the metropolitan and regional area provides greater local choice and convenience for those customers with vehicles requiring inspection.

The DoT will continue to maintain a skilled group of examiners at its Welshpool base site who will now concentrate on the inspection of high risk, highly modified, and oversized vehicles, as well as providing ongoing training to all AIS examiners. Only customers instructed directly by DoT to bring their vehicles to Welshpool will be inspected.
